Zwinglipass: Appenzell
Will hike for views - and for rösti.
Most hikes I do in the Alpstein revolve around passing by the Bollenwees hut at some point for their decadently delicious double-fried rösti. But that’s just the cherry on top, because all hikes in the Alpstein are gorgeous, and Zwinglipass is no exception. I particularly liked approaching Fälensee from the other end of the valley - it was remote and quiet and a world away from the crowds on the hut side. Be prepared for some lingering snow fields if you do this earlier in the summer season, and keep an eye out for marmots at the top of the pass!
