Grüezi!

Welcome to Wander We Go. I’m Alex.

I write about life in Zürich, travels throughout Europe, and musings on both.

Alp Mora: Graubünden, Eastern Switzerland

Bring your swimsuit, and save this hike for a hot sweaty day, so that the icy pools will feel extra refreshing. It’s a long hike from Bargis to Trin almost 20km and 6 hours of hiking, but with a fun mountainside traverse, unique landscapes and open views for the entire trail - well, it all makes for an excellent day in the mountains. And this string of little alpine pools (the Gleschermuhlen) are the icing on a very beautiful cake.

The descent down to Trin does feel never-ending. You could reverse the direction, but if you do that, be careful to check the bus times from Bargis (there are only a few connections).

  • Start: Bargis

  • End: Trin

  • Basic Route: Bargis - Alp Mora - Gleschermuhlen - Trin

  • Length and Rating: 20 km, 900m up/1600m down, 5-7 hours. Challenging
